Back in 1895, our founder, Revra DePuy, discovered a new approach to the treatment of fractures. By introducing the first fiber splint and the first wire frame metal mesh splint, he revolutionized how broken bones were treated. From these pioneering treatment solutions, Revra DePuy built DePuy Manufacturing, the first commercial orthopaedic manufacturing company in the United States. Eventually, that company would become DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc.

Today, we are still driven by our tireless commitment to turn imaginative ideas into practical, real-world innovations. Through our close collaboration with the healthcare community, we are able to identify the clinical issues that enable physicians to achieve true performance excellence and help their patients to NEVER STOP MOVING™.

Our continuing contributions to orthopaedic treatment already include such innovations as our SIGMA® Knee product portfolio, PINNACLE® Hip Solutions with TRUEGLIDE™ technology and our Anatomic Locked Plating Systems (A.L.P.S.) for trauma care.

The SIGMA® Knee System offers a wide range of knee options to help knee replacement patients get back to doing the things they love. With SIGMA Knees, surgeons can fit patients with a knee that can provide more natural movement. Also designed for contemporary knee surgery, SIGMA High Performance Instruments adapt to a surgeon’s specific surgical technique preferences, including computer assisted and minimally invasive surgery and manual surgery.

PINNACLE® Hip Solutions is a complete treatment portfolio of instruments, advanced implants and materials. Only PINNACLE features TRUEGLIDE™ technology, which works with the body to create a natural film of lubrication between surfaces of the implants. This helps restore a more fluid range of natural movement and reduce pain for hip replacement patients.

Our strong commitment to the fracture fixation segment of the trauma market can be seen in our product development Center of Excellence in Miami, FL. We stand poised for growth with the launch of our Small Fragment, Large Fragment and Distal Tibia Anatomic Locked Plating Systems (A.L.P.S.). Here, titanium plate and screw systems combine the benefits of locking screw technology with conventional plating techniques. This hybrid plate concept allows surgeons to stabilize fractures with non-locking screws through the plate and then obtain neutralization of the construct with locking screws.

TRUMATCH™ Personalized Solutions for knee replacement use a three-dimensional computerized scan to create customized surgical guides. These guides are designed to deliver a Personalized Solution based on a patient’s unique anatomy. This instrumentation comes as a result of extensive research and development efforts and is designed to improve implant positioning and increase procedure efficiency. TRUMATCH Personalized Solutions brings many advantages to surgeons and patients, including Advanced Planning Software that can be customized to both the patient’s anatomy and the surgeon’s surgical preferences.
